ADDS - Turbulence Help Page (1 of 2)
Back to Turbulence Page or Turbulence help page 2.
The Turbulence Page contains 3 major sections.
  • The first section contains links to experimental turbulence products. The Graphical Turbulence Guidance (GTG) can be viewed by selecting a forecast time then click on a specific altitude on the imagemap.
  • The second section is an imagemap containing links to regional GIF images that are pregenerated and ready for viewing. The images are re-created about every 15 minutes and depict location and severity of turbulence reported by pilots (PIREPs). One of seven different regions or the contiguous U.S. may be chosen.
  • The third section is a GIF which may be enlarged. This image depicts the location of turbulence AIRMETs with dashed lines and turbulence and convective SIGMETs with solid red lines.
